Finding it difficult to change a headlamp bulb?  Or maybe someone's just advised you you've got a brakelight out?

Well, with all the recent rain, snow and cold temperatures we've been experiencing lately, the driving conditions on Devon's roads are often quite treacherous. Coupled with the dark mornings and evenings during the winter months, it is really important that your vehicle's lights are working properly and the lenses are clean. 

Driving with a headlamp or brakelight out can also be extremely dangerous too.  Imagine driving along an A-road at night and, from the oncoming traffic in the distanc, heading towards you there's a car about to overtake another driver.  On assessing the road ahead, to this driver who's about to overtake, you will look like a motorbike and thus giving the impression of more road space than there actually is.

We are therefore very pleased to offer customers the opportunity to pop in and see us, without appointment, to have their lights checked and bulbs changed, as appropriate. And in order to help keep Devon's drivers safe, between January - March 2013 we are not charging for this service (except for the cost of the bulbs, where used).

As most light checks don't take all that long to do, customers can even wait in our customer reception area armed with a cup of tea or coffee, whilst we carry out our checks.

Vintage Fair at Beaulieu - 1950s cars wanted!

To mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, car and bike lovers are invited to attend a drive-in of 1950's vehicles taking place at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu as part of their Golden Jubilee celebrations between 2nd - 5th June 2012.

This family fair will feature 1950's cars, motorbikes, commercial and agricultural vehicles displayed in the pleasant Beaulieu parks and also on procession around the area.

Any owners of 50's vehicles can attend the drive-in on any of the four days for free, but will need to apply for a place beforehand.  Here are the details: Registration form 

Beaulieu's vintage fair will also include 1950's themed attractions such as dodgems, swing boats, a carousel and side stalls where prizes can be won.

Live music from jazz twosome Riverboat Days will soundtrack the four-day event, while Great British bunting, flags will decorate the event in celebration of the Queen's 60-year reign.

Free Winter Vehicle Health Check

Is your car coping during the winter & early Spring months?

During the Winter months, and as we head into the Spring, it is the time of year when we encourage customers to book their vehicle in with us for a free Winter health check. During this check, which takes around 30-40 minutes to complete, we will inspect your vehicle, including:

• Battery condition and charge rate
• Antifreeze & engine oil
• Wipers & screenwash levels
• Lights
• Heater fan operation
• Tyres & exhaust condition
• Brake fluid & Power steering oil
• Visual brake inspection

You are very welcome to either leave your vehicle with us for this inspection or wait in our reception area where Jennifer or one of her team we will be more than happy to make you cup or tea or coffee while you wait.
